POLICY: Application rules
This session will run through the rules surrounding applications, as laid out in the Applicant Guidebook produced and published by ICANN.
An overview will be followed by some more in-depth review of the most significant rules for applicants, following by an extensive discussion session where the audience will be able to ask questions and receive answers to particular aspects of the rules.
Topics likely to receive some attention include:
- The type of application: generic, community, geographic or brand
- The intellectual property considerations - rules surrounding trademarks
- The dispute resolution procedures - in the case where two people apply for the same extension, or someone objects to the application
